metalweb, one of the UK’s leading aluminium stockists based in Birmingham, has appointed Tony Heard as Operations Director.

Tony joins metalweb from ThyssenKrupp Aerospace Milton Keynes, where he was Supply Chain and Operations Director for 5 years. Tony has a considerable amount of experience with over 30 years in the industry, and brings with him a particular strength in managing improvement programmes. He will have full responsibility for operational issues, including transport, at metalweb sites across the UK.

Commenting on his appointment, Tony said: “I am thrilled to be joining metalweb at such an exciting time and I am looking forward to supporting its growth in 2013 and onwards.

“We face several challenges in the current market so offering our customers a great service is more important than ever. I will be revisiting the current operational processes and will be looking at the best ways to improve these going forward.”
