metalweb’s steely ambition for growth

The results of metalweb’s in-depth research aimed at learning more about the supply-chain challenges its customers face has driven a significant change to the business.

Customers informed metalweb that they are increasingly looking to reduce the number of firms they use to simplify supply chain operations. Consequently we have widened our product offering to include non-aluminium products. The current focus is based around 17/4 PH, 15/5 PH and 13/8PH steels together with copper alloys and a range of nickel-based alloys.

Bruce Maggs, metalweb’s Managing Director believes there are real opportunities in steel, yellow metals and nickel-based alloys. He comments: “We anticipate that at over the next two years, at least a third of our sales will come from non-aluminium products.

As we strive to offer increasing levels of value added services, such as direct-line-feed, kitting and sub-contract management, the need for multi product supply grows and consequently, we have widened our offering to include non-aluminium products.

Our in-depth industry analysis shows that growth opportunities exist in the fields of aerospace and automotive which we are already active in, along with oil and gas and hi tech industries such as medical which are also growing markets. Widening our product offering is yet another string to our bow and we are excited with the opportunities this diversification will bring.”

metalweb has considerable experience of non aluminium products and we have carried out extensive product training using internal and external trainers. Customers will be able to utilise their existing contacts within metalweb whilst new customers should contact the appropriate regional sales teams and a direct contact will be allocated to help with their enquiry.
